I am tracing the families of Bray and Hunt, both of whom came from Brixworth. My grandmother was baptised and married in All Saints (Florence Beatrice Hunt)and her first husband Frederick Archer Davies who was killed 7th Nov 1918 is on the war memorial within the chruch grounds. I am shortly to go to his war grave in France and would like any history regarding any of these families if possible so as to piece together the jigsaw

I am trying to get the History of the Allchin Roller and have found out that it attended the Brixworth Rally in 1973. The plaque that was given over only has N.F.SH Soc., on it and I was hoping that someone may know what this stands for and if they have an old rally programme for this event. Thank you.

Does any one know of the present location (if it still exists) of the Registrar's House given as being in the 'Village' , no actual road name being recorded on the 1871 census.
My grandfather (William Martin)lived a few houses from it with his father a local Police Officer.
Does any one have a street map from that period, or later that shows the street where the house is situated so I could purchase or buy a copy.
Guy Martin
There is info about my family with a link from the ARCHIVE page

In the 1830s and 40s there were rural riots against the introduction of machinery into agriculture. Known as the 'Swing'riots, they were similar to the better known Luddite riots in Towns. They were mostly in Kent and the South East, but some occured in all parts of England. Does anybody know if any occured in this area?

I am trying to find the baptism of Thomas WOOD c. 1750/60s. He married Ann CLARK nee ROBINS in Hitchin Herts in 1783 & was of Campton Beds at that time.
I have a settlement certificate for him, Ann & 6 week old son Thomas in 1784 from Brixworth to Hitchin. One of the witnesses was a Valentine WOOD.
Thomas a plumber/glazier & Ann baptised 6 children in Hitchin, the 2nd being a Valentine.
Any assistance gratefully received.
Glen.

I am researching my family who lived in the Brixworth and Spratton area. If anyone has any information about the LEESON family, I would very much appreciate it. Many of them had occupations involving horses but I am not sure where they worked. My last relative in the area was Margaret Leeson nee Archer who was married to 'Bard' Leeson son of Joseph William Leeson.

My great grandmother was Jane Summerfield. She lived in Brixworth and had three children, Violet, Henry and Margeret (my grandmother). My mother never knew anything about her grandfather because her grandmother (jane Summerfield)sent him packing in 1925. After researching I have found out that my Great grandfather was Alfred Henry Blason. Alfred was a quarryman before joining the Army in 1915. Hes survived the war and rejoined in 1920, after that I cannot find any other info except for...is he the founder of A H Blason and sons, a garage based in Brixworth. You would think so but? Any help would be great, thanks

My GGGPs Richard and Mary George lived for many years in Scaldwell. On May 1st 1871 their son Thomas, my GGdad, married Mary Ann Hamson, a servant, at Brixworth Church. Any information gratefully received.
I note that the vicar, Rev. Watkins, amended the certificate by crossing out the word "Established" before Church, and substituting "of England".

I wish to make contact with anyone who has information on people who were associated with either Spratton Grange, Lamport Hall, or Kelmarsh Hall, between the two world war periods, and possibly the cold war period that followed.
